Yeah, that's pretty much it; pro-declaw...indoor vs. outdoor. Also, "(Insert Country of choice) is the greatest (insert noun of choice) in the universe" ought to be avoided, IMO; it always leaves someone in a huff. Crappy remarks about any particular faith or religion always steps on someone's toes. That's not censorship, either, that's just conversational good manners and tact. Religious/ political debates are better served in a another forum. Again, MHO, and I'm aware that I'm free to quietly boycott any thread I choose. Sherry |

Agreed on the "my country/religion/political belief is better than yours" types of comments. IMO those are simply disrespectful and they make people angry (or hurt their feelings or both), which causes discord and ultimately, in many cases, flame wars and ruined relationships. I have no problem with political conversations or debates if the people involved can be respectful. I know it can be hard to do because people are passionate about their beliefs - I can't claim to have a pristine record of good manners on that myself. But if people can disagree without name-calling or otherwise insulting each other, I'm all for it. Who knows - maybe we'll end up creating the Porcelain Three-Three party, even though the Flabulous Dusty is not around to run on that ticket. -- Joyce ^..^ (To email me, remove the X's from my user name.) |
