OT Christopher Reeves dies

I was just very shocked when I looked over at the TV just now and see CNN
breaking news that Christopher Reeves has died at age 52. It just really
saddens me because he was such an amazing role model. So sad.

Oh, that *is* sad. He really was a role model. I always admired him, and his
wife also.
It seems to be following the "threes" rule this week, Rodney Dangerfield, Janet
Leigh, and now Christopher.

RIP Christopher Reeves

In our family we had a particularly keen interest in him because a
decade or so before him my Mum was also rendered a quadriplegic
through a horse riding accident. Mum has a lot more movement and
function than he did (e.g. she can breathe on her own and look after
herself), but many of the similarities were startling - excepting, of
course, that my Mum is not a Hollywood superstar and Christopher
Reeves was not a Domestic Goddess! We were all sad to hear the news
today and he will be mourned.

That *is* a shock, and so sad. I had so hoped a "cure" of some
kind could have been found, for him and all others like him, before he
died. He worked so hard. A truly brave and inspiring man.

I was sad to see the news online this a.m., too. Many purrs and purrayers
for his bravery and that of his family.
