Default Catnip VS Cat Grass. What's the difference?

Is Cat Grass just a different name for Catnip? If not, what are the
differences between the two?

Thanks.

Catnip is a member of the mint family.

Most, but not all, cats love it, whether to eat it, roll around in it,
whatevewr. They may react differently: some get all releaxed, some get more
excited. It appears to be self-limiting - cats will only eat or roll around
in it just so much per session, & there appear to be no residual
after-effects. If you or someone else grows it in the garden, you can give
it to them fresh - just picked, or you may even find it grwoing in the
wild - such as along property lines, the edges of roads, etc. Or it can be
bought dried & crumbled, in packages.

The grass they sell for cats isn't catnip. I haven't bought it in a good 25
years, so am not sure what varieties of grasses - or grains - are used.
They don't get "high" on the grass(es) - just chew it, maybe for digestive
purposes?

Were out in the country (I have 13 acres) and my daughters girlfriend
who has about 14 outdoor cats (her parents don't believe in fixing the
cats is my guess) made a cat grass garden for the cats. She says they
do what my indoor cats do with the cat nip... roll in it - eat it -
lay in it.

I thought about planting some for mine out side and bringing it in for
a treat. I am guessing it is not harmful? Someday if I get money to do
it I plan to make an outdoor inclosure for the cats and they can have
some cat grass in it. Well that is when I win the lottery and stuff.
Then I could take in a few more cats that need a safe loving home.
