Help! Kitten lost behind walls! :-O
Well, all's well after all -- what a relief --
My pal Manny came over and we pulled out my dryer and opened up a somewhat larger hole in the floor -- still too small to put anything like a basket or cage down, but we could see her all right about 10 ft down. Manny managed to rig a little lasso out of a thick extension cord, lubricate it with a little washing soap so it would slip, and got it around her upper body -- Up she came! Phew! Of course, she after spending about 20 hours down there, once she was up she's acting like nothing happened. Her name is Famous Shoes -- polydactyl all four paws. Thanks everybody! Albert |

Sorry Harri! Didn't realize your name was Harriet!
"Granby" wrote in message ... xcuse me but mineown fren Harri iz a bootiful girl kitty. O T thinking diz hooman didn't pau tension ta how Harri was spelledz, HARRI, not Harry. jus FYI "Stampir" wrote in message ... "Amelia T Cat" wrote in message ... I tried cutting a bedsheet in half and knotting it into a rope ladder for her to climb up, but she wouldn't go for it. So, I lowered a plastic jar of water down to her on an electric cord, which I hope will be a little comfort. At least she isn't crying, and seems okay, so I hope she'll be none the worse for the adventure by tomorrow afternoon. . . Albert If she's got water (or if you offer her the jar periodically) she ought to be ok until you can get her out. Sometimes they just go exploring and get too into the exploration and don't realize they can't backtrack. I almost had to disassemble the cab of a semi once, when Harri Roadcat went exploring in the space between the cabin wall and the outside sheet metal. Fortunately she figured out how to backtrack and work her way out. Keeping our fingers crossed that you get this little one out safely. Please do keep us posted. I'd drive over and help if I wasn't 1000 miles away Dan So Harri Roadcat is a travelling cat? Does Harri go out on the open road w/you? How does Harri like it? Does he have window to look out? Do you open the window for Harri? |

Do you open the window for Harri? Harri (short for Harriet) earned her "Roadcat" name when I was driving a semitruck. She traveled with me all of the US in that truck. We did leash walks at truck stops and rest areas, and little Harri loved being in the truck with me. She learned all the little nooks and crannies and mastered the art of disappearing and giving me heart attacks. Now that I'm working a desk job we take Harri with us from time to time on road trips, and still take her on leash walks. Dan Amazing. How did you leave water out for her? All the cat water bowls I've seen would probably spill I figure? So Harriet got to see the USA! On the road. Could she look out the windows in your cab or sleeper? |

I finally got a fairly high-sided bowl with a heavy base and only filled it about half-way. That way it didn't spill too often and only had to be refilled a couple of times a day. So Harriet got to see the USA! On the road. Could she look out the windows in your cab or sleeper? Yep. She used to like to ride on the dash on the passenger side where she could look out easily and make a spectacle of herself. She also liked to ride on the top bunk and look out the windshield. I kept a cargo net stretched across the front of the top bunk so she wasn't in danger if I had to brake suddenly. She had a wonderful time as a roadcat. And having her along sure made the long stretches away from home more bearable for me. Dan |

I've seen would probably spill I figure? The way mine Paw drived da truck EFURRYTHING spilled! Da company should have let me drife da truck, but da pedals was too far away fur mine paws to be able to reach dem. So Harriet got to see the USA! On the road. Could she look out the windows in your cab or sleeper? I kept telling Paw to build me mine own elevated bench on da passenger seat but him never did. Da lazy bum... But him did allow me to take him for walks fairly often. Harri Roadcat |
