I'm not sure, but I think the above was meant to be some kind of
parody. - Hide quoted text -

This whole thread just makes me sad. It's a perfect example of what
rpca
has become.
David's post was a story. An *anecdote*. It was what this ng used to
be all
about.
This is also a perfect example of why I stopped posting to alt.cats
and rec.pets.cats.behavior. I could post a perfectly legit question
with the
scenario involved. There would *always* be *someone* who, instead of
taking the point intended, would pick up on some turn of phrase, and
slam me good for something entirely unrelated. And it would *always*
be that the poster misinterpreted what I said in the first place.
But RPCA wasn't like that. It is now. There are people now whom it
seems are simply searchng for an opportunity to be disagreeable
when they read a post. Especially if it's from someone you may not
particularly like, or someone you don't know.

What makes me saddest is the hypocrisy here, and I wonder how this
post would have been received had it been authored by a regular
poster.
David and I don't always see eye to eye. But I've read his posts for
over
ten years and he does have a wonderful dry wit and sense of humor.
Some
people didn't "get" it because he doesnt post much anymore and you're
not
familiar with him. BTW, he painstakingly has kept a list of all our
cats RB
and living, just simply by labor of love.
It also makes me wonder how some of you would react to David Yehuda.
Google his posts in the archives sometime. He was the king of creative
license with his postings. I think he would also be very sad to read
this thread.
Some posts are meant to be entertaining, nothing more. They're not
supposed
to give you insight into our private lives or make you think you know
what
kind of people we are.

BTW, Yowie, thank you for injecting a note of sanity into this thread. Your
point of view seems to be well balanced and unbiased.

It does seem that people's skins are more sensitive this time of year, and
they are more likely to take offense where it wasn't intended, and to
overreact to things. It's too bad.

Why thankyou blush.

2010 hasn't been a good year for many. Whilst I wouldn't consider it an
annus horibilis yet touch wood, 2010 has not been an easy year for me
either, and I'll be glad when its over.

Which post of mine did you lose? I can re-send if you wish.
