I'm back!!!
If it seems like a long time since you've seen me post, well you're
right. Besides being extremely busy around here - the old computer died. Seems there was a couple metal clips holding the CPU onto the motherboard, one came loose, and stay pieces of metal laying on a motherboard is NOT a good thing. I finally got agent working tonight - after a couple messages back and forth between me and their support site to get a new username and password. Once the reader was working, I had to go through the same thing getting the news server to recognize me. Other than that, things have been going about as well as can be expected. I've spent this past week downloading and installing software trying to get everything back to normal. Pretty much everything is back now, though I still have to install AVG and word perfect, and connect the scanner and printer before I'll be back to normal. My girls are all doing fine. Furby is almost as big as her momma now, and I often have to seen the face before I can tell who is who. They've all been mad at me lately, since I'm trying to get Little Bit and Spotty to lose some weight, and prevent Princess from getting too fluffy. The problem is that when I feed them Sammy and Furby just eat enough to satisfy their hunger, and the other three eat until everything is gone. A couple of the neighborhood cats need some purrs, though. Seems they got into a fight, probably with each other, and both have abscesses. I know where one of them lives, and I finally talked to the owners Saturday. The lady said if it wasn't better they'd take Frank to TED today to be looked at. The other cat, who I call Gray Kitty, has been a regular visitor here for several years. I know there is, or at least was, a home somewhere, because Gray has always seemed to be taken care of and only comes by to eat here about twice a month. For the past couple days, though, Gray kitty has been spending most of the time on my patio in one of the carriers I keep out there. I expect I'll end up taking him to TED for treatment this week if I don't see some improvement. It's nice to see you back, and to hear your crew is doing okay. Hope the neighborhood cats make out okay. It's frustrating when people just "let things go", abscesses, although those things can work out on their own. If you do end up having to take Gray Kitty, it sounds like you won't have any problem getting him in the carrier! Sherry |

LOL Yeah, getting Gray Kitty in the carrier will be easy, if I do end up taking him in. I put the carriers out on the patio earlier this winter when I realized that the folks across the alley were leaving their cats out 24/7 in all kinds of weather. I'd come home at 2 or 3 AM and find Frank huddled up on the welcome mat at my door. When it was just Frank I'd let him inside to warm up. He was always ready to go back out after he warmed up a little, though, seldom wanting to stay in for long. Now they have two cats. Unfortunately my girls don't get along with the other one - who I call Little Sister, although she's a sweety and very affectionate. I went out a few minutes ago to check and GK was sleeping in the carrier again. I put out fresh water and some food for him. Seems alot more spry this morning than a couple days ago. He's a long hair, and not the friendliest cat, so I can't check him out easily. He usually keeps his distance from me, and hisses if I try to pet him. I think the abscess may have burst, as his fur is matted in a couple places - on his neck and shoulder. -- Steve Touchstone Little Bit, Sammy, Spotty, Princess, Furby and Rocky (RB) Pix at http://tinyurl.com/22pfn8 Vids at http://tinyurl.com/4yb6nj |
