Default more catsitting tales

Last night was my first night with Lorna, the one-eyed maniac cat and
her adopted brother Van Gogh. I'm sleeping over at their house for 3
nights (but these folks live nearby, so I'm home now, much to the relief
of the fuzzbutts in this house!).

I did NOT get much sleep last night. I thought I'd leave the bedroom
door open in case Lorna, and maybe even the very shy, semi-feral Van
Gogh, might want to sleep on the bed with me. Ahem, *sleep*??! I've
never encountered a feline over the age of 4 months who is as unable
to stop *moving* as Lorna. She just kept walking all over the bed, up
to the head of the bed where the window is (I'd cracked it open a tiny
bit for some air and she *had* to investigate it). I'd just start to
drift off when she'd come walking up the bed, over my head, and start
meowing at the window.

Finally, after 2 hours of this, I had to kick her out (and poor Van
Gogh, who was sleeping on the floor - though he was out of there before
my feet even hit the floor). I shut the bedroom door, and finally got
some shuteye.

Lorna is actually an adorable cat - she's a small calico who lost one
eye sometime during her kittenhood (before she acquired her current
humans). She is very affectionate, loves to give head bumps, get petted,
and play (although she's rough on the hands). She's about a year and a
half old, so still very playful.

I'm still trying to win over Van Gogh, a formerly feral orange tabby.
(One time he did settle down next to me on the couch, when his humans
were home - I think the reassurance of having his daddy-human around made
him bolder - and he let me pet him that time.) Last night he did come up
to my fingertips and sniff them, and he let me pet his head once. I hope
to have him on the couch with me by the time this job ends!

Joyce
