Default Purrs for my Mum

My mother is having hip replacement surgery today.

She's very nervous about it.

If there's any purrs down the back of the lounge or in last year's coat
pockets that you could spare, I'm sure Mum would appreciate them (as would
I).

I'd also like to hear from anyone who has had hip replacement surgery. We're
all hoping that this will return her life to the active vital one she once
had not so long ago - because her hips were so bad she has been a virtual
invalid for hte last year or so. it was very depressing just to see such a
strong fiesty woman (who was considered for Olympic grade discus once) being
so crippled by pain, and I really hope that this does the trick.

Purrs for your Mum and you!

I haven't had such surgery, but people I know who have had it say that
it made a huge positive difference to their lives - nothing short of
miraculous.

Absolutely! We're sending our best purrs.

My younger brother had hip replacement several years ago. It initially
worked wonders for him. The fact that it only worked for him for a year or
so is not due to the hip replacement, but due to the fact that his bones
are dieing. That is, however, NOT the fault of the hip replacement!

Just make sure that she doesn't try to get up and around until the doc
tells her she can. Trying to move around too soon can be very painful!

RRRRRRRR!!! for aching hips! Joint replacement surgery does hurt, but
the eventual results are worth it. My mom had knee surgery in March,
and for the first 3 months she was groaning and cursing. But when she
hit the three month mark, she realized how much better off she was. I
wish your mother a trouble free recuperation period.
