Default Update: Blind kitty is home

Well! We didn't expect it would go this fast. This afternoon, my
DH went to take a cat carrier liberally sprayed with Feliway to
go sit on the front stoop of my son's house, in hopes of getting
UBK (Unnamed Blind Kitty) used to it.

A short while later, he called. "I've got her!" (We *think* it's
a her. Not real sure yet.) I scurried about setting up the room
she'll live in for the nonce (it's where my working desk is, so
she will have company large chunks of the time).

He said she yelled a couple times, then settled right down.
Feliway is magic...

Right now, she has not yet come out of the carrier, but is facing
out and the door is open. There is a bowl of crunchies just
outside the door to tempt her.

Wish us luck! And hope she tells us her name one of these days :-)

Our whole household is purring for the success of your wonderful
project.
Ubik, by the way, is the name of a PK Dick novel. I'm not saying it
would be a good name for your new kitty. I'm just saying.

Hooray! It's so exciting adopting a new kitty. I hope she integrates
well into your household. Purrs for good luck on the way.

That's great news! And you are very wise to use Feliway in the carrier and
to keep your new kitty in a separate room for awhile. Please get two or
three plug-in Feliway diffusers -- one to keep in the new kitty's room and
others to keep in areas where your other cats might pass in close proximity.
The plug-in diffusers release premeasured amounts on a timed basis. It also
helps to keep a TV or radio turned on in kitty's room when you are not
present.

Thanks for keeping us informed, and please continue to keep us updated.

Sounds great so far. Remind yourselves to talk to her and talk when
you are around her, much more so than you are used to with your other
cats.

Also be a little extra careful of stepping on paws. She won't be
quite as quick as the others to get out of the way.

Great news. I'm sure she'll soon settle in. Looking forward to stories and
