Default Duffy needs tooth extraction

My darling Duffy needs to have a tooth (possibly two) pulled. I have
antibiotic pills to start on Tuesday, and the extraction will be on
Friday. His teeth do not need to be cleaned, but I saw the symptoms of
tooth problems--exactly the same as occurred two years ago, so I was
able to get him to the vet much earlier this time. He is in very good
shape for a cat of his age, but I will still be worried until everything
is complete.

Purrs on the way for Duffy and the extraction. Persia had two teeth
extracted and it was worrisome, too.

Duffy is a remarkable cat.

Purrs for Duffy, and for you.

Tooth extraction purrs! I totally understand your anxiety, I would be
beside myself, warranted or not.

Sending purrs for Duffy. If it reassures you at all, my Willow had a
dental and partial thyroid removal last October, aged 19 - I was very
worried about giving permission for this but the vet reassured me it was
a quick operation and as she was also in good shape, the risks were low.
Everything went perfectly and she is fine. She was 20 in April and still
going strong.

Wonderful! What great news for a cat of that age. Duffy is
approximately 18 years old (possibly 17), and he is in excellent shape.
Thanks for the report.

Just saw this today, Friday.
Purrs will continue for Duffy while at vet's.

Duffy came through with flying colors. He had blood work first, and TED
said that everything was excellent, “very rare” for a cat of his age.
He did not have to have his teeth polished, but he had two removed. One
was particularly bad. It was actually splitting, and there was rot
going down to the bone. The other was a normal type of extraction, but
there was no problem with the process for either one. Duffy seems to be
fine now. He has been resting ever since I brought him home at 3:30

Thanks for all your good wishes.

I am so very glad to hear this! I know you were worried. Please give
Duffy some scritches for me.
