Default Lovely Video of a Bengal Tiger Cub

From The Tonight Show when Jay Leno was still on.
What a cute little tiger!

Leno sure knew how to handle that little guy. I expected it
to start purring!

Knowing that tigers "chuff" rather than purr is information that
might save your life one day. Start practicing.

Hey, that little guy was happy! scritches! Turning its ears back,
that's what to watch for. In any cat. Uh oh, that cat isn't happy!

I loved it when Leno (who loves cats) asked, "How long does this guy
sleep? My cat sleeps 23-1/2 hours a day." LOL Yes, cats do seem to
sleep a lot, don't they?

Persia has never really been nocturnal, to my knowledge. Maybe she's
just always just been lazy.

According to what I've read, a HEALTHY cat sleeps between sixteen and
twenty hours a day! (Possibly one reason cats live quite a bit longer
than dogs.)

Persia usually sleeps with me, but she does get down during the night.
There is always evidence she's been up and around. For example, I'll
notice the next day a toy mousie is in a different spot. Or I'll
drowsily hear Crunch Crunch Crunch at 3AM when she decides it's time for
a snack. I scoop her litter box morning and night, and there's
evidence in the box in the morning. So yes, she does wander around a bit.

Still, she sleeps a heck of a lot. I don't really know how old she is.
(Best guess she was 2, maybe 3 when she adopted me in 2001.) One
thing I can say for sure is she never kept me awake wanting to play all
night.

Sootie spends some of the night with me (when she doesn't stop out all
night) but she too potters around and I hear that crunch, crunch, crunch
or sometimes lap, lap, lap as she has a drink. I love to hear those
sounds, it's peaceful somehow.

Judith

Those sounds are reassuring.

When you hear them you know Sootie is inside for the night. I know you
fret about it sometimes when you can't get her in. Hey Sootie, please
stop worrying your meowmie. There's food and a nice warm place to
sleep. Probably better weather inside, too. LOL

Jill
