Default Princess is gone

She died this morning at 6.10am (local time, Western Australia, Monday the
25th of April).

Those of you who have followed her story will know how much she is going to
be missed. She fought a hard battle against the inevitable for the past two
weeks, but ultimately it was just her time to go. She had a very peaceful
end, and was in no pain.

She had so much fight in her, so much life. It's hard to believe she's
really gone. But I feel blessed to have had her share her life with me for
that short couple of months, and privileged to have been able to comfort her
at the end.

Thankyou to everyone who emailed and posted here with your kind thoughts. I
appreciate it more than I can say that you saw what a special cat she was,
and for your purrs for Princess. She was just one of the most amazing gifts
I've ever received (I hope this is making some sense, I'm still just a bit
stunned, I knew it was coming but it's never easy to let go of an animal you
love).

I'll be updating the Princess home page some time later in the week, I'm
putting together a celebration of her short time with me, but for now I just
wanted to let you all know: her fight is over, and she's resting in peace at
last.

I'm glad that whe went peacefully and without pain, and that she knew
love in her final days. Our purrs and prayers are with you as we've all
felt the pain before.

Am so very sorry to hear that. You have my prayers and best wishes. Remember that you
will see her again someday. She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. We have
lost 2 of our babies in the last couple years and I still get choked up when I think of
them.

Aw Tara, I'm so sorry to hear that. You fought valiantly to save her, and
at the very least you have her love and a good home for the last days of her
life. She's young again and healthy now and I'm sure she'll find lots of
good friends who owned people here waiting for her.

I'll burn a candle tonight to help light her path to the bridge and we'll be
sending purrs to help heal your broken heart.

Hugs,

CatNipped

Oh I read the subject line and got all teary. Then the tears came when I
read your message. I've only been posting here a short time, but my first
day posting was when you'd posted a link for a video of Princess. I'm so
sorry for your loss but am glad she is in peace now. Her life was a sad one
but was brightened by you for the last of it. I know she'll be forever
grateful. You are a very special person to fight for her the way you did.

Tara, I read all of the posts about Princess. DH and the kitties and I
send our deepest sympathies. She was loved and cared for, and that is
more than most. Be honored that she let you do this for her and to love her.

I'm so sorry to hear this. What a valiant soul she was. Take heart in the
fact that she had a much better end than she would have had without your
help.
