Default Open Windows

Since Persia and I have been at Mom's house Persia really hasn't had much of
a chance to sniff the great outdoors. It's been a fairly hot (but not
scorching) summer. The last couple of days the weather has been perfect so
I've had lots of windows cranked open. (At least, the windows that *will*
crank open. They're 22 years old and have some issues.) Even though the
windows are set high off the floor I've made sure there are convenient
places for Persia to perch so she can look out (without resorting to buying
window perch things). She's been enjoying watching all the up close and
strange (to her) wildlife

I accidentally enclosed a tiny green lizard between the screen and the
window last night in my bedroom. I went to crank it open this morning, oh,
hi little guy! LOL So sorry about that! I guess you're hungry since I
didn't shut any little bugs in there with you, or if I did you already ate
them. Go find some breakfast!

Persia didn't see this lizard. She's not quite nonchalant about lizards
yet. But she no longer pays much attention to the hummingbirds. She
chatters briefly at them when they hover around the feeders. But after a
few seconds she has laissez faire attitude: "Oh, it's just a hummingbird.
Never mind."

But the sibling cats from next door got into a tussle out back this morning
and that got her attention! They were wrestling around on the ground,
hissing and growling at each other and generally acting very fierce. They
were playing (most likely). Persia heard them and her hackles went up and
her eyes got wide. Then she realized there were two cats out there. And
oh... well, they're out there and I'm in here. They aren't in *my*
territory. So I think I'll just go eat some more kibble. LOL

Jill
