Overvaccination is the cause of a lot of health issues, so it would be wise to be a minimalist where vaccines are concerned. My vet will be here in a few hours to give my darling 19 year old Gemmy the gift of rest. She is dying from adenocarcinoma. We tried IP Carboplatin as a palliative therapy but it is not working and she is declining rapidly. I know it is the right thing for her but the guilt, the pain of losing her, the wondering if I could have done more or if I should have done chemo at all is killing me. I wish I could hold her tight until the time is here, but she is so ill and feeling so down that the best I can do is just be next to her and hope that she can feel how much love I have for her. I will not be replying here anymore today as my energies need to be focused on her. In awhile she will be at peace and I will be at her side until the end. Take care and never apologize for trying to help. As a vet tech I have given the same speech to all clients regarding vaccines and some owners both dog and cat just choose not to vaccinate... There's no need to get hissy at anyone people.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - I'm so sorry you have had to make this decision. It is one of the most dreadful and heartwrenching decisions any of us have to make, but it really is a final gift of love for our wonderful feline companions. Your original message was not unpleasant or negative at all. I thought it had useful information presented in a matter-of-fact way. I appreciate receiving that type of information, whether it is in response to one of my own messages or whether I read it in a thread started by someone else. Take care of yourself and try to get some rest. You will need it after being with Gemmy in her last moments (and throughout all that came before). MaryL |

Update Miranda is going for her vaccs
Marina wrote:
It went just as painlessly as I anticipated. It was a new vet, and she immediately agreed that we can wait a couple of years with the distemper vaccination, but she said the flu vaccination is pretty important because there is a virulent calicivirus around. Since Miranda loves to be out in the enclosure, I think the flu shot is a good idea for her. The vet checked Miranda over and oohed and aahed about how beautiful she is, while her Meowmie just swelled with pride. She's put on 200 grams of weight since her last check-up, which is a good thing in Miranda's case. snip Great news! Best wishes, Polonca and Soncek |

I'm totally with Matthew on this as well. And the diot is in my litterbox.
I loathe people who try and make others feel stupid, and none of us are. Yes, he is a snot and yes Marina knows what she's doing. No worries on anybody's part, okay? Purrs Kyla thank you makes me feel better, Lee "Matthew" "Stormmee" Lee don't worry about it. That OP has ended up in so many kill files for doing the same thing to a lot of people. |
