A tabby and white girl arrives late and signs the book

[On a quiet grassy, rocky meadow on the island of Iwo Jima a small gathering of cats watch the moon rise over the eastern horizon. At the same time, on the island of Tashirojima (also called Nekoshima, or "Cat Island") a larger bunch of cats gather in a formal garden, also watching the moon rise. A soft breeze ruffles the fur of the cats.

On Cat Island, a portly torte cat crawls under a large bush and some noises of fiddling and adjusting can be heard, followed by a brief hum. The hum dies away, and where once a rock wall had marked the eastern edge of the garden the kitties now see the rocky, grassy meadow on Iwo Jima and the Iwo Jima kitties see the garden on Tashirojima. Amelia crawls out from under the bush, checks that the teleported linkage is working properly, and smiles to herself.

Kitties have been rushing around at both sites, distributing pillow and cushions around the respective clearings. At the south side of the Iwo Jima meadow stands a large, flat rock, shaped roughly like a stage. A rock of very similar dimensions also stands on the south side of the Tashirojima meadow. When Amelia activated the wide-field teleported, the two large stones merged, such that a cat standing atop either rock will be present at both sites.

Small oil lanterns arranged in a circle around the rock provide some lighting to both groups of kitties. Similar lanterns are arranged along walking paths leading to the meadow and the garden.

Harri Roadcat quietly walks to the large rock and lays a few bouquets of flowers around the edge. As she retreats to he cushion, we see more cats arriving every second.]

Hi Ms Tess,
Welcome to Jellicle Ball. Don't worry about being late..Nope.
Sure, have some yummy foods and nip whatever you'd like to drink and sit
with your friends
Sqweex is a tabby, like you and so is Pipps, but Pipps is sitting with
Ranger.
Mosey,
