Getting ready to fall back!
Yes, it's still a couple of weeks before the big Daylight Savings Time
switch, which I think is the first Sunday in November. We get an extra hour to sleep, depending on how we feed the kitties. Those of us who cleverly have the cats trained to eat when the slave is good and ready to feed them have nothing to fear. Alas, I am not one of them.. I get up by 6 most days to go to work, so the cats are used to eating then. They are NOT fooled by the DST switch. NO, they will be screaming for their food an hour before I have to get up. I will not be a happy camper. |

We have to get up an hour earlier for our clock switch at the end of October. Boyfie likes getting his brekkie an hour earlier ;-) He's not so happy in March, when he has to wait for an hour longer. We'll let you know. But I know that I'm going to get woken up early for several days. That's so weird. They *should* be letting you sleep an extra hour. As far as I know, cats don't read clocks. They tell time by other cues such as sunlight. The sun will be coming up an hour later that Sunday morning, so they should be still snoozing when the clocks say it's time to get you up. I guess on Monday morning, there will be other cues like the sounds of people on the street, starting cars, leaving for work, more traffic, more industrial noise, etc. But on Sunday I would expect them to let you enjoy it. Now in the spring, that's another matter. You lose an hour then, and cats aren't especially sensitive about it. -- Joyce I want freedom, the right to self expression, everyone's right to beautiful radiant things. -- Emma Goldman |

We get an extra hour of sleep, but the sun comes up when the sun comes up, and instead of being around 6am, it will now be coming up at 5am. So while I'm perfectly willing to sleep with the sun coming up earlier, the cats know that it's time to eat, and they will get me up. |

The sun goes down earlier in the evening, so it had better come up earlier in the morning. But I still don't need anyone to reset my clocks - I know they're going back an hour. I might need someone to reset my expectations, though. -- Joyce Anyone who has accustomed himself to regard the life of any living creature as worthless is in danger of arriving also at the idea of worthless human lives. -- Albert Schweitzer |
