Cleaning for the fleas

I don't know. My woodburner goes out if I do and also overnight. If we get
really bad winter weather like last year, -10c to -15c for a while, I don't
think fleas could survive - although I've never had fleas on my dogs or cats
ever, even in the summer.
I groom a lot, maybe that disturbs the one flea that tried her chance.
They do like centrally heated warm homes. They don't have any chance here
during the winter. I haven't studied the lifestyle of fleas, but they
certainly don't survive my winter house.

And good duvet or not, I notice that kind of thing. And the cats would
be phoning the heat complaint hotline.

a hint of this, I put a gas fire on overnight.
I think it was 2010 when the temps got so bad for so long that my toilet
inside froze. Despite heating my bathroom the overflow pipe took in so much
cold air from outside that the cistern froze up.
Fleas like warm houses. If I ever had them in the house - I don't think I
ever have - they just couldn't survive it during the winter.

I can't help but ask why you don't heat your home as other people do? I'm
only getting part of this thread with my NR so may have missed that part.
We keep our home at 72F through the winter.

I've never had a broken pipe, but I have had frozen toilets and that is
inconvenient.

Wow, that's the coldest I've ever heard of anyone keeping their house.
(That was terrible grammar, but it's late and I'm stupid.)

I keep the thermostat set at 50 in the winter, but I only turn it on if
I'm home and awake. So the apartment gets reasonably warm at least once
during the day. I don't let it go much lower because the cats don't
like it. They have heated beds, and in the winter don't do much but
stay in them.

I keep the upstairs at 72 F during the day and 60 F at night. The
downstairs (bedrooms and bathroom) is not heated. The furnace radiates
enough heat to keep it in the low sixties. It helps that the downstairs
is about half below ground.

The lowest temperature I can set my heater is 60F. I usually set it around
65-68F. But I always turn my heater off at night. Don't need it with my warm
blanket. Plus it gets very dry with the heater on, and I don't want to bother
with a humidifier.
I live in a highrise and it is warmer than in a house, except maybe on the top
and ground floor.
I know a neighbour who never uses her heater. despite our brutal winter
with temperatures down to the -20Cs. It gets worse when there is a wind chill.
Then it can go down to -30Cs. -- Winnie
