Bonnie purred!
I've felt a tiny little purr in the nanoseconds when I have been
permitted to stroke her but last night she was curled up and she let me stroke her for almost 5 minutes and boy did she purr?! Surprisingly loud for something so small when she gets bigger she's going to have a massive purr motor. I've also managed to pick her up once but she wasn't keen so I put her straight back down and at least she didn't immediately run off screaming- she's come close a couple of times when called but not close enough to touch. The odd thing is she liked having her tummy tickled a week or so before I could touch her back or skritchie her behind the ears. We had the first "OUCHIE!" moment yesterday I was going into the bathroom and as I was shutting the door she was running towards it and I didn't see her- the first I knew of it she'd head butted the door and bounced off it- thank Bast kittens are made of rubber and come with a degree of indestructibility it didn't bother her at all We got official confirmation we're keeping her this morning This morning Sarsi brought out Santa (it'll be 8 in December- Santa is her heirloom toy- she doesn't bring it out often, since the head is half off she seems to think Santa has earned an honourable semi retirement for something that was 50 pence out of a bargain bin at the pet stall it's proved remarkably durable I mean Dunzi (does anyone mind if I don't use the RB after her name just yet? It's still hurting I have days when I think of her and chuckle at something she did but most of the time I think of her and have a cry) used to dunk (possibly she was trying to drown it- Sarsi loved it more than her perhaps?) Santa in the water dish) and played with it with Bonnie.... She's been introduced to Santa! It's official! She's staying! Sarsi has spoken! Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |

The first purr! (The first extended purr, anyway.) Surprisingly loud for something so small when she gets bigger she's going to have a massive purr motor. In my experience, kittens purr more loudly than adult cats. So she may quiet down a bit, or maybe not. Licky purrs at about the same volume he did as a kitten, meaning LOUD. We had the first "OUCHIE!" moment yesterday I was going into the bathroom and as I was shutting the door she was running towards it and I didn't see her- the first I knew of it she'd head butted the door and bounced off it- thank Bast kittens are made of rubber and come with a degree of indestructibility it didn't bother her at all "Made of rubber", I like that. Kittens have an amazing array of life- saving traits. Such the ability to bounce off a closed door, give their head a good shake, and race off in a different direction. Oh, and cuteness. That's certainly saved a few kitten lives. We got official confirmation we're keeping her this morning This morning Sarsi brought out Santa (it'll be 8 in December- Santa is her heirloom toy- she doesn't bring it out often, since the head is half off she seems to think Santa has earned an honourable semi retirement for something that was 50 pence out of a bargain bin at the pet stall it's proved remarkably durable I mean Dunzi (does anyone mind if I don't use the RB after her name just yet? Lesley, you don't *ever* have to use that if you don't want to. It's a convention here, but it's not a rule. You can always change your mind later. She's been introduced to Santa! It's official! She's staying! Sarsi has spoken! She has just been through the sacred rituals of the Passing of the Mantle of the Santa, and the Santa Dunking, and has now becme an official member of your family.
