I have also had some good news this week- a while ago my masseur left
and I have been suffering with my bad shoulder for a while only to
find a friend of mine is trained in massage and can do it for me! She

I didn't need to do that) It certainly worked. she did it Thursday and
Friday morning I barely managed to get my bra on then a few hours

Wow, that is wonderful! Massage is great; I have a friend who is a
professional massage therapist, but she generally doesn't do freebies,
darn it. You've lucky to have such a wonderful friend :-)

Yoga is fantastic and I think it will do you a lot of good, not only
physically, but also spiritually.

I don't know about spiritually, since being Wiccan, I'm not too much
into the Eastern religions. But who knows? It's pretty amazing what
breathing deeply feels like -- especially for someone with COPD/asthma.
I may go back to my pulmonologist next time and watch as he stands
confused going "But-but-your breathing is *better* than before!" lol.

Back when I could still get up off the floor by myself, I got a lot of
mileage out of yoga. Very good for relaxation and breathing even if
that is as far as you get.

There used to be a program, I think on PBS called Lilas Yoga and You.

I mastered the sponge.

We are sending you plenty of purrs. Yoga is great--hang in there. It does
take some patience.


Thanks :-) Like Jo said (I think? short memory these days), even if
all I get out of it the breathing and relaxation, that will help.

Good on you. Once upon a time I was very much into yoga and loved it. Dunno
why I never seem to find time for it anymore, as I'm sure it would do me a
world of good too. Same goes for tai chi and qi gong. Even if you can't take
a class, there are plenty of good videos available that can get you started.

It's hard to find time for ourselves, I think. We are so involved with
everybody and everything else, we have to force ourselves to stop and
take time for us. At least that's the way it seems to me.

Yay! Purrs for things to continue to get better. Yoga and other gentle
stretching type exercise programs can be *very* good both for improving
what ails you (especially chronic pain) and promoting general health. As
a bonus, there are *lots* of videos available for those of us on a budget.

Right, now I need to clear out the living room so I can start my
tomorrow with some yoga. You have inspired me to start again.

Well, the whole point of yoga is to realize one's innate nirvana. Here's
a favorite quote of mine from the "father" of yoga, Patanjali:

Yoga chitta vritti nirodha - The stilling of mental activity leads to peace.
