Default Might As Well Talk To The Wall

I just got done reading Marina's story about Nikki (RIP, precious
girl) talking to walls (thanks to Flippy). Does anybody know why
(save for the mothership thing) furkids do that? My little Princess
Meena talks to the kitchen wall on Sundays only (we're usually doing
the crossword puzzle at the kitchen table). Sometimes she chats with
the living room wall, but mostly the kitchen one. We can't help but
laugh. I think *she* thinks **we're** nuts!

I think it's the same reaction they have when seeing birds or squirrels
outside. They're probably hearing something in your walls, a bug or even
just the insulation settling. Their hearing is phenomenal and they're
probably just focusing on something they've heard that we can't - which is
still creepy to watch (I always ask mine, "Are you seeing a ghost?" when
they do that).

Hugs,

CatNipped

Yep, Persia was yelling at the walls around the chair she chased the
greeblings from the other day. Mom says she's crazy; naw, she's just being
a cat

Yeah - when they *want* to hear! The Princess can be on one of her
deck "thrones" and when I call and call her, she won't even
acknowledge my presence - won't even look in my direction! Other
times she is *so* affectionate she makes my heart swell. What an
exasperatingly magnificent creature! ?;^)

We ask the same thing, as we are convinced that Mookie (RB) is still
lurking and watching over us all.

LOL! What's even more insulting is when they move one of those "radar dish"
ears in your direction then just move it back without so much as opening an
eyelid! ;

Just so you will know for sure you are being ignored. Love that one.

I think WooToo is talking to my, our, Mom. Probably telling her that
the service is good but the place is too messy, that she has gotten
used to the other cats and the d*g and has come to like them but that
I still haven't gotten a haircut. But Mom probably knows all that
anyway.

Of the others, the only really talkative one, unless you count purrs,
is Sunrise and mostly she talks to Buddy the parrot. It sounds like a
real conversation, even though the only recognizable _words_ are from
Buddy and even she does more "mum grak inna gurgle" then "pritty girl"
or "rugrat."

Sounds sweet, if strange.

Two nights ago I went to call the fur kids in. Kayla and Molly were
sitting in the back yard with their backs to me. Just about a foot
apart at the base of the big tree. And both staring up into the tree.
It looked for all the world like they were praying, though I suspect
we may have a squirrel.
