Default Motley (RB)

Motley is gone. She was a petite (seven pound) tortie, the last of our
rescue cats. She was half feral and wasn't much of a companion but she
was decorative and she knew it. Her age was indeterminate. If I had to
say, I'd guess ten years. Suddenly this morning she became lethargic,
wouldn't move when Max (the 100 pound lab) chased her, wouldn't
struggle when I picked her up. That in itself was a bad sign; she
never lets anyone touch her.

This evening we took her to the vet. By that point she was struggling
to breathe and X-rays showed her chest full of fluids of undetermined
origin. We then decided to end it.

We are sorry to see her go but comforted by the fact that we did not,
as we have too often before, wait too long to make the decision.

She will probably be our last cat. Max is rude to cats and we are
getting too old to deal with litter boxes.
