Thank you to everyone who sent purrs for Juliet to feel better soon. I think
she is feeling a little better today. Certainly not straining to urinate
like she was yesterday. Also she didn't have an appetite and hadn't eaten
all day, so last night I gave her 2mg of Periactin. Within an hour it had
her eating quite well and with no vomiting.

With regards to the urine sample, the pH balance was in the normal range,
but showed blood cells. The sample did not show crystals. Whew! The Vets
recommended putting her on a C/D diet.

Because of Juliet's advanced age (she is 14.5 years old now), the Vets are
hesitant to put her on any meds, including antibiotics, unless absolutely
necessary.

Juliet is eating a little today, but I may give her another 2mg of Periactin
tonight, just to make sure that she gets enough nutrients. She is still very
thin, 4.1kg compared to 3.9kg last visit. She needs to be 4.5kg at least. In
her younger days she weighed 5.5kg!

The Vets advised that if she doesn't improve by 3 days I must bring her back
to the Vet, or sooner if needed.

With a little luck and everyone's purrs, Juliet will have a quick recovery.
I'll keep you updated.

Purrs & hugs to all,

Purrs are on the way for Juliet to continue to improve.

Still purring . . . .

If they'll eat it, c/d is a very good food, or at least I think so.
Years ago, when I had The Four, one of them had urinary problems, and I
just put them all on c/d. Aside from the fact that it tends to add
weight, all of them were pretty darn healthy for many years.

Default Update on Juliet - Aug 14, 2008

Hi all,

Just wanted to give you an update on Juliet. The (UTI?) condition appears to
have cleared up. No more straining to urinate.

I fed her C/D for a few days and she appears to be feeling much better now.
Her appetite is good, although if she eats too much in one go she vomits. I
have to feed her in small doses.

Thank you everyone for the purrs, they worked!

Purrs to all,
