Dog in Elk severe beverage warning

Someone brought this up in another thread and it was somewhat buried, so
I thought I would bring it out into the daylight. It really is time for
it to be reposted. But all food and beverage items in another room.

Ah yes, I remember this story from way back in the early days of
Usenet..... It's one of those stories that makes the Internet all
worthwhile.

I sent it to a friend of mine at work and she called me up, laughing so
hard she could hardly talk. It's a great story. I'm all teary-eyed
from laughing again, and I've read it a million times!
