Kenzie is getting positively plump again!

Between the Tapazole, and eating twice her body weight..daily... in
Friskies Seafood Sensations, I have to start limiting Kenzie's food
again!

But I found two places in the basement where Kenzie had hurked up some
food I don't know when it happened, as it was in a dark corner. NOT
in the past day or two.

But Kenzie is doing much better, that's for sure. I'm going to keep her
at 75% of the full Tapazole dose (5mg) for awhile, and see what happens.

I tried to count her heartbeat, with a stethoscope. All I can hear is
her purring. I've tried a *bunch* of times, and she's ALWAYS purring.

Getting her heart beat count...kitty pulse?... will tell me how well the
Tapezole is working. Very roughly.

It takes a full month for the Tapezole to achieve full effect.

I'm paranoid about increasing the dose: she got pretty sick when I
increased it from 3.375mg to 3.75mg. Such a small increase, and it made
her sick.

But now she is eating really well, and is actually overweight.

The Tapezole must be working. She was SO skinny just 3 weeks ago. She
wouldn't eat her expensive 'regular' food. She wouldn't eat the
expensive premium kitten food I bought her, either.

But on Kyla's suggestion, I bought some Friskies Seafood Sensations, and
she started eating that. A little, at first, and gradually, more and
more. And then, too much, apparently.

After she's been at this dose for a month, I'll take her in for the
expensive thyroid test, and hope it's 'enough' Tapazole.

But Kenzie seems to be doing well, for now. And that's what counts.

Kenzie seems to be acting very normal. She's
always been a pretty sedentary kitty. She walks; never runs. And I think
she never learned how to play as a kitten.

Then, she was an only kitty with her 2nd humans. I adopted her from
them; I never asked about her first humans. I didn't want to know who
had her declawed

But Kenzie purrs when I enter the room she's in, and if I'm in the same
room, she will start purring if I just look at her.

She is a subtle kitty: introverted, when most cats tend to be
extroverted.

Or, she's got that calico set of genes working

But, she certainly seems happy and healthy, now. She's sleeping on the
floor by my chair now.

She gave me quite a scare; she was sick for a long time.

I am SO glad to hear that, Gandalf.
Kenzie is such a sweet kitty and I'm glad I could help.
Kisses to her from me

Eeeek, when I saw the subject line, I thought it was her sudden RB
date. Yikes!! Talk about getting scared!

You posted this exact message the other day, I think. Or else I had a
precognitive experience. But I'm pretty sure I responded to it
the first time.

Oh, I get it now. This part is the current post. The one above *was*
your post from the other day.

Never mind. I'm just glad she's OK!

You are right; I did post most of this already. But because it had the
same title as a post 6 weeks ago, on my server, it was treated as a
'follow-up' post. I couldn't find it, until someone told me where it
was.

So I posted it again.

I wasn't thinking when I put the date on the header; I'm very sorry
about that.

Maybe she just ate too fast a couple of times? Miranda brings up her

Kenzie does that too, but not very often.

But I am certain her tummy is more sensitive now that she's on the
Tapezole. Nausea and vomiting are a common side effect.

I'm just happy that she doesn't seem to feel sick. I don't mind cleaning
up, if her tummy is more sensitive.

I'm hoping that with time, the side effects of the Tapezole will
decrease and then stop.
