Don't hold your breath. I am sorry...but this stuff is appalling for
anyone
whose age is in the double digits.

This has nothing to do with age. I refuse to confine myself to doing stuff
that someone sees appropriate for my age! I play lots of computer games,
many of which could be described as kids' games, but they amuse me so I
play. The reason why I don't like meowchat all that much is because
English is not my first language, not my second either, so sometimes it
gets confusing what is meant, when the same original word isn't always
meow-spelled the same way. It is just a like/not like situation. But then
I don't start verbally bashing everyone on this newsgroup for using it, I
just said I'm not comfortable using it, and will go on lurking here.
And anyway, since when is being childish a bad thing, especially when it
doesn't hurt anyone???

Right you are

Yup, and it is like a second language too Love, Anti Kyla

in fact this group was created just for meow chat so those who didn't care
for it could not deal with it, Lee

Rec.pets.cats.community has used meowchat for as long as I remember. I'm
not all that fond of it either, but tend to lurk here anyway. There are
other rec.pets.cats groups too. For example if it's health issues you
want to look into, check out rec.pets.cats.health+behav.

I am a cat, and you just made me spit milk all over my Meowmee
and she wasn't happy with me at all.......Mosey

can you not tell he is a useless human by the phrase "cat owner" he
evidentally has no basis in the real world if he thinks cats are owned,

And, young man as I assume you are by your rudeness, exactly what does
that have to do with a problem you might be having with your cat?

You know what? I think the health+behavior group is the one I've used
in the past. I think I'll go there. Aside from its being more geared
toward the advice I'm seeking, I can't stomach this so-called meowchat.
Ridiculous. It's exactly the sort of foolishness that gives cat owners
a bad name. Thanks, Christine.

BTW, I used to date a Fin. She and her sisters were born there, but
grew up here in the states. They all had Finnish names that were a bit
of a challenge for my American tongue. Her parents' names were really
tough, but I have to admit, I did a pretty good job with them. In fact,
the first time I met her younger sister, the sister remarked on how well
I pronounced my girlfriend's name. (Most people didn't do too well.)

Thanks, again.

So while I do (really) appreciate your concern for my cat, I simply
cannot
abide the meowchat. Honestly, it's not playful; it's hopelessly
childish.
You must know that. Don't you? Would you accept people in a
child-rearing newgroup using babytalk? I doubt it.

BTW, I've spoken to the vet, and it's really looking like my kitten is
just a little piglet. I'm just going increase his daily amount of food
to
make him satified, then try very gradually reducing it to the proper
amount.

Newsflash: rec.pets.cats.community is the newsgroup where meowchat is
spoken. That is the express purpose for which the group was created.
Those of us who participate recognize it as fun, humorous,
light-hearted, creative, and relaxing. If you don't, then STFU and go
elsewhere. You opened the wrong door and entered the wrong room; it is
now time for you to leave and find the proper venue. We don't care a
whit what you think of meowchat or it's practitioners.

We are glad to hear that your feline companion is well. I will ask,
though, that you be more open and understanding of kitty's
eccentricities than you are of your fellow cat lover's eccentricities.

Now please FOAD.

Look, moron, there's a couple of simple lessons you seem to have never
learned:

1: Other people like different things than you do.
2: When you run into people who have different interests than yours,
shut up and go away.

Why did you go out of your way to make enemies? No one here ****ed in
your oatimeal.

It requires two things that a self-righteous asshole like you doesn't
have: imagination and a sense of humor/playfullness.

Maybe I'm plonked so you won't see this...

What I always find interesting is how easily offended people in the
internet become when they're criticized.

My sense of humor is just fine...but grown-ups using this moewchat is
the equivalent of talking to each other in babytalk. It's childish, so
grow the hell up.

If you don't like it here, don't visit or ask our advice.

As I already said, I'll be heading over to the health-behavior group.

You seem to have created a lot of fuss and continued to return here to
keep the thread alive. That's just troll activity.
