Luthien & Muezza.Glorio

Just a little update on the wee ones who are not
so wee any more!

Luthien has been on Tapazole for severe hyperthyroidism
since August and is tolerating it well. She had been a nice
round 12 pounds once upon a time, but by the time she got
diagnosed she was down to 6.25 pounds poor thing I could
feel every blade of bone along her vertebrae. But now the
fat pads are finally filling in and she is currently weighing
in at 7.6 pounds. That's ~1.5 pounds over three months or
so. So I am very relieved that she is heading in the right
direction.

However, she has one little problem. Muezza.Glorio, who
is not even five months old yet, tipped the scales at
8.2 pounds, and is thoroughly enjoying throwing his
weight around....particularly at her! I guess she provides
him more sport than a little stuffed mousie, but sheesh!

Plan of attack: TED next week, schedule him an
ASAP nicking.
(old yorkshire farming term for bloodless castration of
calves....been reading Herriot again). Perhaps it will
get that smirk off his face!! He's so sweet to me, but
he really loves persecuting poor Luthien!

Why is he called Muezza.Glorio?
You might have told this before, I do not always have time to read
every thread, but if so please, tell it again.

His real name is Muezza Glorfindel. Most of my cats
have had names related to Lord of the Rings, going back
many years before anyone thought of doing the movies,
and Glorfindel was a heroic elf from those books.

The kitten is black in certain lights, and dark, sable
brown in other lights, and in the right angle, you can
see definite tiger stripes on him too. He looks like
he has a somewhat Abyssinian physique, and I have
read that the Prophet Mohammed of Islam had a
favorite cat which was an Abbysinian, and the name
was Muezza. This cat was sleeping on the sleeve of
his robe, one day, and the story goes that when he
had to get up and leave, rather than disturb the cat,
he cut off the sleeve of his robe and went about
his business as the cat slept on undisturbed.

I like that story, so now we have a Muezza. But my
five year old daughter insists on calling him Baby
Glorio, and every time I tried to type just Muezza.Glorio
see? I can't do it without adding Glorio!! So I guess
he named himself, or something.

We tend to say Mwezza.

And here I was thinking it would be pronounced "Mooetsa" like in Italian.

sound like an old latin music notation...you know....
