Default Brown recluse got me

Can someone tell me the cure? I can't afford to get very ill right now. It
just happened an hour ago. Caught the little bugger in the act but too late
to stop it biting.

*RUSH* to the emergency room. This is what caused Pam S.'s extended
hospital stay in critical care and several surgeries. A brown recluse's
bite causes the flesh to literally rot off the bone.

If you don't have the money, go to a hospital that accepts federal aid and
they will be forced to treat you even without payment.

Hugs,

I forgot about that brown recluse remedy that I found a while back, some
herbal compound. What the heck was it again??? Made right here in Ava, too!

Found it... http://www.brownrecluses.com/

Looks like it's made from a few simple herbs that grow locally, plus
activated carbon. I can get the herbs easily enough, they grow in my yard,
and I suppose Walmart has the carbon.

Closest hospital is 55 miles one way, and me without transportation.

PAT GO TO THE ER NOW DON'T HESITATE. THERE IS NO KNOW NON-MEDICAL CURE

There are kits you can but to draw out the venom but you have to have them
on hand to do it immediate and still you need to go to the ER

See
http://firstaid.webmd.com/spider_bit...fi rstaid.htm.
There isn't an antivenom currently available in the USA for brown
recluse bites, according to the page above. The treatment is a
tetanus immunization (if you haven't had one recently), painkillers,
antibiotics, and antihistamine creams to relieve itching. You will
need a follow-up with your doctor because the bite will need to be
checked daily for 3 or 4 days. If the tissue around the bite dies,
the doctor will need to remove the dead tissue in order to prevent
secondary infections such as gangrene.

I don't know for certain that the bite I got five years or so ago was
from a brown recluse, but the scab that formed had the characteristic
pattern (medium red center, very dark red border). I went to a
walk-in clinic, and was treated with an antibiotic injection plus 10
days of oral antibiotics. Either I got only a small dose of the
poison, or the spider that bit me wasn't really a brown recluse (I
didn't see it), because I didn't have any deep tissue damage. I did
have a surface scar that gradually faded away over the next 3 years.

Call 911! Seriously, Pat, if this was a brown recluse spider that bit you,
you could be in serious trouble!

There IS no cure for those spiders Pat... if they're selling one it's
got to be snakeoil. The treatment is antibiotics to try and prevent
infection (or nip it in the bud) because the end results are nasty,
nasty, nasty... if you're sure it was a brown recluse don't hang
around - get your butt to the hospital NOW. The longer you leave it,
the worse the results will get.

The biggest risk is not from the direct effects of the venom, but the
fact that all sorts of nasty anaerobic bacteria, including gangrene,
are likely to take advantage of the dying tissue.
