Default Update :o) on Tucker (longish)

I'm leaving kitty duties in my DH's hands as I'm going on a 3-day overnight
nature trip north of Santa Fe with Celeste and her class. (leaving tomorrow,
Monday and back late Wednesday). I left very detailed instructions re the
cat care and Byron took one look at the long (!) list and laughed and said
that I obviously thought he was an idiot for spelling out stuff in infinite
detail.

RE Arne: Still waiting to hear and as I won't see this family at the school
until later this week due to this trip, I'll have to wait to let ya'll know.
I've been thinking about Arne all weekend; I hope it works out.

Many thanks for all your thoughts and purrs and good wishes for both Tucker
and Arne.
regards,
Christine

Purrs for Tucker that he has something that's treatable and fixable. Enjoy your
trip!

Continued purrs for both Tucker and Arne. I hope Tucker's problem is
one easily solved and found soon.

A friend of mine was going overseas for a few weeks she had a family
house-sitting and left her three cats (Burmese) in their care - she showed
me the instructions she had left the house and the cats - half a page
about the house and six pages about the cats!!

Well, today was Tucker's eventful day at TED. He had the ultrasound and
xrays and bloodwork done and so far the ultrasound and xrays show no heart
problems (What a Relief!!). They didn't see an overt signs of asthma on the
xray but he had a widened area of the trachea which the ultrasound doctor
said could be a sign of his breathing harder on inhalations; he said there
could be a possibility of something going on in his small airways and if
things worsen or the lab work shows anything weird we could do another
procedure called a bronchial lavage but he suggested waiting and seeing for
now. They scanned his whole abdominal cavity and he, too, has "stuff" in
his bladder like Omar; we'll see what the urine sample shows but I'll
probably start him on the Cosequin like Omar, too. Apparently, when cats
get this sort of stuff it's a model for what is called interstitial cystitis
in people, according to this doc. He was very nice and explained all the
ultrasound info. Tucker is very, very happy to be home and just curled up
in Celeste's and my lap(s) and couldn't decide which one to stay in. I
think Tucker is tuckered out for today.

We'll continue the purrs and prayers that Tucker's lab results will
produce some kind of diagnosis that can be treated with minimal stress
and cure whatever is causing his problems. One positive is that it
sounds like you've caught the bladder problem early and can take care
of that before it gets really serious - hopefully anyway.

a long and happy life

Sorry to answer my own post, but I forgot to add purrs for a nice trip for
you and Celeste, and that hubby manages to take care of the cats alright.

Yes indeed, you must keep your priorities in order! ;-)

Last christmas when I made my annual trip our to California to visit
family I left about half a page of instructions for the apartment, and
three pages about the care and feeding of the birds and cats, not to
mention notes taped around the apartment on cupboards for where the
food, extra litter, etc were located. And this was all for a friend
who has taken care of the crew for the past three or four years when I
go out of town.
