Default part 4; the final chapter

trudi returns to herown hut where jack has orderd a lite brekee anna
encourages her to eat then take a nap... trudi piks atta fudz den decides a
nap is in order...

as trudi sleeps she becomes aware of a oh so familar engine running, she
gets up and sees, Mme. A.'s blue and white t bird it takes off at a very
high rate of speed becoming airborn, trudi watches as it goes into the
distance... she can see a faint rainbow in the distance... she finds herself
on a faintly violette cloud watching the proceedings... as the car
approaches the rainbow it is suddenly brought to a halt at the edge of the
bridge... a very frail and slightly dishevelled Mme. A. exits the car, she
puts two feet on the tip of the rainbow and she stares intently across the
bridge, a familar gravelly voice calls owt,

you have done well my love, unfortunately the bridge does not allow any
mechanical thing here, i had to lave my cycle at the edge as you must do
with your car, there is no need for anything mechanical here the food both
kibble and gooshey is always near in a full bowl, the wine and rum for the
hoomins is always fresh and in a bottle that doesn't need a corkscrew and
their glasses never go empty as their buffett never does either... now you
must come across on your own to wait for the hoomin who so richly deserved
your love...

Mme. A. smiles weakly at herown husband kitty she takes a few tentative
steps, as she walks, her hair becomes silken, shiney and is once again in
place... she begins to walk with the showgirl kitty confidince she was
blessed with throught her life...

at the half way point she looks over the side of the bridge, she sees her
friends on the beech in janaka, she sheds a tear for her friends, especially
the rasta cat with whom she had shared dinner with and enjoyed hersefl so
much with... she takes a few more steps and looks over the other side... she
sees her hoomin, the hoomin who was the only one she was fond enough to
leave her show cattery for, the one hoomin who was worth the effort to keep
getting on his lap to convince him that it was she and not that little white
persian who was meant for him, she sheds a tear of sadness for having to
leave him, then a tear of joy at the thought of him caring to very much to
do what was best for her and not himself...

she thinks, one day mine hoomin, you will find anofur kitty, i will help
this kitty will be as in need of love as you are and you will be happy
again,

then she turns back to the bridge, she gets stronger, younger and more
beautiful with every step...

when she reaches the last few steps, she turns, has one last look at her
car, her friends and her hoomin... she runs then into the open paws of the
waiting tiger and cries tears of sadness and joy while her other friends who
have gone before crowd arownd to welcome her to the bridge...

Trudi wakes with a start, and as it always is, when one beleives in the
higher powers that operate the universe, she knows that no matter how
painful, things are as they are meant to be, and that eventually that
everycat, and every hoomin will one day meet agin...
