Tanada is Technically Savvy
For whatever reason, Tanada has figured out how to turn off the circuit
breaker for the computer, and then turn it back on again. This means that I lose my internet access 2-6 times a day. I get it back, yell at the cat (yeah, I know, she yells back at me), turn the mother computer back on, then hope that I don't have to do whatever I was doing over again. I think this qualifies as a b*st*rd cat trick. Pam S. feeling beleaguered |

I think this qualifies as a b*st*rd cat trick. I had a similar problem - attaching the outlet strips to the table legs solved all but one part: they stepped on the button on top of the UPS the runs the router and satellite tansceiver, shutting them down. That's not as bad as losing power to the computers, but the switches for those UPSs are on the front of the cases and have a guard. I solved the problem by finding a cap off some bottle - I don't remember what - that was taller and bigger around than the button, then taping it over the button. No more problems from the cats - now it's just the lousy power reliability and much worse satellite reliability when it rains. -- T.E.D. ) |

I think this qualifies as a b*st*rd cat trick. Agreed. Smokey is having great fun opening the lid of my CD player....you need to put a plastic cover over the circuit breaker to cat proof it. --Fil |

A few weeks ago, I lost about half an hour's worth of typing at work after inadvertently pushing the switch on the power strip with my foot. Usually, I save what I am doing every minute or so. On this occasion, I was concentrating enough that I forgot to save periodically. Today, she enlisted Merlin to lay behind the lap top and shove it off the desk while she smirked on top of the printer/scanner. Merlin got a face full of squirted water an Tanada smirked even more. Then she got behind the lap top to shove it off the desk and got water squirted into her face. Pam S. still feeling beleaguered |
