Ryan still hasn't left the room (as far as I know), but he's been
"getting acquainted" with a few of them, sniffing noses, butts, etc.
Diana on the other hand, has had a tour of every room, and wanders
around like she's always been here. If someone hisses at her, she
just hisses right back at them and carrys on her merry way.

Every night, we have our play and brushing session, which they both
seem to enjoy (Ryan in particular). *Fred, did you know they like pipe

Ryan eats string, and I don't know what he's do with a pipe cleaner,
but it should be OK because he never ate the plastic strips.

I remember you saying he liked them. I'll have to get some frozen
juice so he can have the plastic strips. :-) He really likes the pipe
cleaners though. I put two of them together (making sure there are no
sharp edges), and dangle it in front of him. He will even stand up on
his hind legs trying to grab it. It's not only play time for him, but
exercise time as well. I don't leave the pipe cleaners in there;
they're only for supervised play.

I remember you saying that he expects you to go to where he
is to pet him. *He'll stand still for a minute or two, and then moves
to another part of the room, rolls over and exposes that belly of his,
and looks at me as if to say "come and get it". Of course, I do. g

* * * * That's Ryan. *He wants to see his humans make an effort.

He sure does! He's had me flat on my stomach with my arm stretched as
far as I can so I can rub his belly. I'm trying to get him to come to
me when I tap the floor. He's done it a couple of times, but I'm sure
it's only because he wants to. g

Today, they four cats visiting them, and all is going well, as I
expected it would. *There are only a couple here that I think might be
a problem, so we're saving them to the last. *By that time, Diana and
Ryan will have decided who they would like to hang out with once
they're out of the room. *I find the "badasses" don't seem to bother
the others when they're lounging in groups.

* * * * They won't bother Ryan either, more than once.(:-0) *Although he may be
to polite to defend himself. *He's never been in a serious
disagreement. *It's always been play for him. *He's a 21 pound cat in
the prime of his life, though, so he should be able to handle himself,
but I've always been amazed at how mature he is and how well he manages
relationships both with other cats, and with me. *I'm betting that if
there are problems he may help you keep the "badasses" in line with
what's known as "minimal force." *He's got leadership qualities.

I don't think they'll bother him either once he feels totally safe.
He doesn't seem to realize that he's larger than any of the others
here, and he's such a good-natured cat that nobody would have reason
to even try to pick on him. I'm sure it won't take him long, now that
he getting used to the others.

I'm going to give Ryan a few more days to see if he will venture a
little further. He may have already and I just haven't seen him. If
he doesn't, I'll take him out to the living room when Unca Graeme and
I are watching tv, and put him on the couch with me. If he gets down,
I'll follow him to see where he goes. I'm sure he'll be okay, but he
seems to be more shy than Diana, and I want him to feel secure.

We don't have parrots here, just the birds outside.

Yu haf badasses, Anti Heather? *Whut, 'zackly ar doze?? *Du dey hurtz?

UB ~ I give you permission to explain that to him, Heather. *He's over
the age of ten, so he's a big boy now. ;-P

--- Onyx, strangely curious...

OK Cory, I'll do that. :-)

Yes Onyx, there are badasses here. They are kitties who don't get
along very well with other kitties, and are nasty to them. They don't
hurt unless one of them take a swipe at another kitty and scratches
them.

Anti Heather, hoping she's explained it well

Default The Saga of Anti Heather- or How I Came To Be Owned By So Many Cats: Chapter Five

Thanks, Anti Heather. I'm sort of back on-line now and starting to
settle into my new, temporary home. It's a different lifestyle and I'm
eating less and have more to do.
Cinnamon is having a hard time adjusting to having more people around
and spend a lot of his time hiding under the bed. At night he comes
out and onto the bed with me and likes lots of comforting. There are
Cardinals here and robins and other birds that get him all worked up,
starting at about 4:00AM and I've re-arranged the furniture so he can
see out the window, but last night was the second time he clawed at the
floor under the door wanting to explore the house further. So I opened
the door and he had a couple hours of exploration in a dark house that
was new to him. He came back and spent the rest of the night in our
room. He missed his former home a great deal and we both miss Ryan &
Diana as well.
My computer is sort of set up and email may be more difficult in a few
days. I'll have to change over to a new email server and I hope it can
work. I am missing cables after the move and hance have no sound. I
hope to fix that soon.
However, Cinnamon and I are back on-line as of this morning.

Fred, fur his house.
