I know how it feels. I used to live on handouts until Meowmie Debby and

has a kitty door so I can usually go inna the garage to sleep at night,
and he sometimes pets me a liddle, but he duzn't play wif me or nufing.
He duz his best to be a kitty peeple, but he duzn't really know how.

That sounds like the situation Scrappy (RB) was in back when Meowmie Debby
and her family lived in Mew York. Only she wasn't being fed. But
GranMeowmie took her in one day and she stayed with us until right before
Meowmie Debby and her family moved down to Furrlorida. That's when Scrappy
and Mister Spook (??) were takened to the Long Island Humane Society (a
no-kill shelter) to live out their lives.

A few weeks after Meowmie Debby and her family landed in Furrlorida, I
adopted them.

De house across de stweet (one ob de houses mine offishul human is
landlord of) has a buncha kitties. Dere hooman also leaves food for me,
an wadder, and sum toys and sum katnip. An he keeps trying to talk nice
to me so dat he can pet me, but I'z still purty afraid of peeple. De
udder kitties let's me use dere 'porter, and dey is friendly as long as
I don't try to steal dere hoomins away. An dey let me share dere back
yard, but it'z hard to get out of oncet I get inside.
