Max is home
I took his ashes home today.
Max is sleeping on one of his favorite bookshelves. Cat of a lifetime. But I'm not dead yet. I know there are those of you who have won the trust and love of a completely free cat. I've heard from you. Thanks H. |

With the passage of time, the happy memories will come more easily. The fact that Max came to trust you and love you is a powerful testament to your character. Hang in there. It does get better. Max is home
My character?
(chuckles) Max's character makes me pale in comparison. I always expected him to just not come home some day. There are 12,000 acres of woods around our hill. In half a decade I had to fish him out of a tree twice. Brown Tabbies on an oak tree are invisible; The woods are oaks and juniper. The Saturday before Max died he was pigging out on baby rabbits. He could have swallowed a bone wrong. Who knows? I lost a wonderful border collie that way at the same age as Max thirty years ago. Senator John Jack Cheese loved me too. Sade has a song "No ordinary love." Anybody who thinks only humans have souls isn't paying attention. Nite all H. "Dan M" wrote in message news On Fri, 09 Jun 2006 19:11:06 -0500, H. I'm glad he's with you, at least that part of him that was born of our Mama
Earth. Surely Max's spirit shall be a guard and guiding star for you, even in his "retirement." Mr. Stevens, you're a poetic man. Max must have had a great appreciation of the things in life that make for poetry, and must be part of the bond you shared that I can feel as I read your posts. Blessed be, Baha H. I'm glad you've got your boy home.
PB's ashes are sitting on the dresser waiting for.......I don't know......the thought of scattering them is just too painful/final at the moment. I want/need to keep him close for now and maybe for as long as I live. {{{{{H}}}} -- Shirley http://community.webshots.com/user/shirleycatuk "H. Adam Stevens" wrote in message ... Lots and lots of purrs and hugs, Polonca and Soncek I found a couple of cats at the local shelter. Pick 'em up Friday. We shall see how they fare on Max's hill. One's a spay female, still a kitten, the other a neutered male, about 2-3 years old. Think I'll name 'em Lily Litvak(she's already drawn blood) and Bill Lear. (There are a couple of names to google.) |
