They did this a few years ago here. It went over very well at first,
but then the food
just wasn't usable to us. The IQF raw chicken was *great*, BTW.
But the bulk of it turned to high-fat, high-sodium convenience food.
Lasagna trays,
offbrand frozen french fries (saturated fat count was
unbelieveable)....frozen enchiladas,
Salisbury steak dinners, polish sausages. I guess everybody else in
the community
lost interest too, and there wasn't enough participants to continue
the program.
Your menu sounds *great*. They never did offer fresh fruits or
vegetables here or
the individual meals.
What a lot of people did was buy the basic $30 package for themselves,
then buy an
extra for the church to donate to a needy family. It was a pretty good
program at first.
Wish they'd give it another try, since it looks like the menu has
improved so much.
