It went over very well at first, but then the food just wasn't usable to us. The IQF raw chicken was *great*, BTW. But the bulk of it turned to high-fat, high-sodium convenience food. Lasagna trays, offbrand frozen french fries (saturated fat count was unbelieveable)....frozen enchiladas, Salisbury steak dinners, polish sausages. I guess everybody else in the community lost interest too, and there wasn't enough participants to continue the program. Your menu sounds *great*. They never did offer fresh fruits or vegetables here or the individual meals. What a lot of people did was buy the basic $30 package for themselves, then buy an extra for the church to donate to a needy family. It was a pretty good program at first. Wish they'd give it another try, since it looks like the menu has improved so much. Sherry |
