Nanki Poo
As you will remember, we lost Minke a couple of months back. We were just about to go to the USA on holiday so we went ahead. The only difference from normal was that normally cat-feeders never see a cat, just find the food has gone: while we were in the USA, Nanki Poo came to meet the cat feeder. Since then, Nanki Poo has got much more friendly, often with his claws. I am used to getting woken at 4 am by a claw in the back and a request to turn over: he prefers me to sleep on my right with an armful and a mouthful of fur. This evening he told Liz he was there by clawing her knee. She was NOT PLEASED. Much of the time at home I now have to wear a tight skirt. Well, actually it is a beach towel, but Nanki Poo likes to have a nice lap to sit on. Sometimes he will stay for three hours or so. He still likes to test gravity. Especially on my bedside table. Having woken me up at 3 or 4 am, he sits on the table, makes sure I am watching, and slowly pushes things off the edge to see if gravity is still working. It is. -- David Stevenson Storypage: http://blakjak.org/sty_menu.htm Liverpool, England, UK Emails welcome N Poo: SI O+W B 14 Y L+ W++ C+ I T+ A- E H++ V- F Q P+ B+ PA+ PL SC |

It is. mir is the gravity tester around here. she seems very surprised each time that it is still working. i wish they would collaborate so that they only had to test it once in a while in one place, then tell all the other gravity testers that yes, it's still working. or maybe they have to carry out their tests around the world to confirm a theory. or to make sure the earth is still spinning at correct speed. or something. -- Marina, Miranda and Caliban. We have multiple testers here. One night they took turns knocking things off of my desk and night stand. I'm still trying to get everything put away. Testers are Tanada, QC, Pine Cone, Sonya, and MCG. busy little critters. Pam S |

Mimi (RB) was the gravity specialist here. She was a little cat, and depending on the size of the object, she would push with her little paw, or use her head. For her, it was all about getting me out of bed. She would start with small articles, and work up to the telephone, and computer keyboard. It was effective. The thing I remember was she was still pushing things around with that crazy gleam in her eye, on the morning of the day she went down with acute renal failure. -- Theresa, Stinky and Dante drtmuirATearthlink.net |
