Default Cruise is almost here

I'm panicking because I'm going away for two weeks. I never left the
brood for that long. I'll have people in of course, but my cats aren't
really friendly so even though they know the cat sitters (friends and
relatives), they aren't going to be highly visible.

They'll be all right, but I'm concerned that if something happens to
one of them, no one will know. Nothing I can do though but enjoy the
cruise (and the week away after that) and hope for the best.

And of course, I only have to look at a boat to get seasick so there's
that as well. I have the patch, the wrist bands, and the ginger gum. I
don't expect much help from the bands or ginger, but I do have high
hopes for the patch.

Actually, I'm not really too worried about the cruise. It's a big boat
in calm water and everyone says not to worry. So I'm not worrying. I'm
expressing realistic panic.

Enjoy yourself, and don't worry about your cats. I've left mine with
friends keeping an eye on them, and even the most nervous cat managed
just fine. I had friends who liked cats and were good with them, and I'm
sure you have the same. Even when Betsy (RB), who never did much like
humans, went into hiding, my friend managed to at least get a look at
her from a distance every so often to check on her without frightening
her. (It was clear that she came out of hiding to eat and drink when
left alone0

Relax and try to enjoy yourself! Hopefully the dramamine patch will
quell your sea sickness.

FWIW, when I had to leave Persia (RB) for a couple of weeks a neighbor
(who had "met" Persia a couple of times) came over to do the daily cat
chores. She didn't actually *see* Persia. But it was apparent she was
eating, drinking and using the litter box... just not when the neighbor
was in the house.

Have a good trip!

Nice to see you again, Cheryl!

I concur. Persia (RB) was a fairly nervous cat. When I had to leave
her for a couple of weeks the neighbor doing daily kitty chores didn't
see her. But it was apparent she was eating, drinking and using the
litterbox. (Persia, not the neighbor. LOL )

I understand. If I didn't panic before I went on a trip, I'd think
something was wrong. I hope you have a wonderful time. Your cat
sitters will take good care of your cats, whether or not they see them.
