Recipe from Betty Crocker:

Soft Molasses Cookies

1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup vegetable shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons granulated sugar

Heat oven to 325°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, shortening,
molasses and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon.
Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar.

Shape dough by rounded tablespoonfuls into 1 1/2-inch balls. Dip tops
into granulated sugar. On ungreased cookie sheet, place balls, sugared
sides up, about 2 inches apart.

Bake 13 to 16 minutes or just until set and cookies appear dry.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.

I think once you have found a brand that they like that suits their
digestion and comes in various flavours you should stick to it.
Several times I've bought Boyfie premium quality food pouches for a treat.
Really expensive stuff. He was horrified. "What kind of muck is this?" he
enquired. He refused to eat it. So I don't bother with treaty-pouches now.
He's a bit of a stick-in-the-mud really. He likes a routine in his daily
life and food he is used to.
Because I love him, I would like to treat him to something nice now and
again. Posh food, he says no. Catnip has a limited effect. Toys, boxes,
things to play with? Withering glance.
He seems absolutely happy with what he has already. Nice food, the chance
to go out and hunt small ratties if he wants to, his own bedroom with duvet
and a meowmie he adores and she adores him too. Maybe that's enough.

My three cats have healthy appetites who eat a large can of
food each day, along with all the dry they can eat. They also
enjoy walks, where they sometimes catch a snack or two.
They walk with me when I go outside, but otherwise would
be content to be couch potatoes, or tear through the house
like wild cats and destroy the old sofa, no big deal there.

I was worried the previous kind of food had too much soy
and not enough nutrition. The new kind has chunks of
meat & gravy.

Of course most Muslims are good people. We all need to think about how and
where they are radicalised and stamp it out somehow. All the British
Muslims I know are horrified and say "these acts are not carried out in our
name" Most realise that, but because of the actions of fanatics, Muslims
are often regarded with suspicion now.
How these fanatics think what they do will help their cause I have no clue
about, quite the reverse I would have thought.

Hmm, what kind of cat food has soy in it? Let's know it's name so we can
avoid it. Cats are obligate carnivores, they *need* meat as the main
constituent of their diet.
If they don't like the new food with meat, I wouldn't give them anything
else so they have no choice. It's in their best interest to eat meaty food
and I can assure you that they won't starve themselves by refusing it for
long, providing you remain firm. Like you eat this or go without, and they
may well be stubborn and go without to force you to do what they want, but
do not give in to this blackmail. Providing there is nothing wrong with
their health a stubborn cat saying "I only like this or that, and I have to
have it" doesn't work in my house. I provide a good meaty food and if my
cat says "no, I'd prefer chicken", bad luck that boy ;-) I take it away to
let him get hungrier. We don't do fussy about food here.
