The Great Time of Bugs
Well, you can tell winter is coming. Last night I had the glass door open
and the screen door shut. Now, sometimes bugs get in and I am alerted by cats staring intently at the carpet that critters have entered. However, last night, I see Sugar chasing something THAT I CAN SEE FROM ACROSS THE ROOM!!!!!!!! Egad! I bolted up and across the room to find her tailing a two inch wolf spider. I had cleaned so there was nothing but the plush toy the cats play with handy to incapacitate it. I stunned it long enough to run and get a glass and cardboard (it's really hard for me to kill things bigger than 1/2 inch for some odd reason). By the time I got back to it, it was recovered but I got it into the glass and took it outside. Back to reading. Minutes later, I see her with something else, though not large enough to see. Go over and find a big old giant ant. Ants I can flush. Back to reading. See Grant intently staring/pawing at something on desk. Itty bitty something bug. Gone the way of the ant. Guess I'd better shut the door when it gets dark. They can paw at millers through the glass. I'm not having a bug convention again. Karen |

I had one of those spiders recently -- they move very fast, I hate bugs in the house, but this is the time of the year they try to come in. Good luck! MLB |

Eeeww! raging arachnophobia I can't tell you how much I admire you for throwing it out. I don't like dead spiders any better than living ones, so I don't want to kill them, but I can never bring myself to do the cardboard-and-glass trick. I use a broom, and I'm afraid the creatures rarely survive. -- Marina, Frank and Nikki marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi |

Ewwww! I'm afraid I'd be hightailing it into the next room and
barricading myself in - the cats can HAVE the bugs! lol! Nothing like live-action cat toys! Bugs kinda gross me out, too.
Fortunately, Albuquerque is not as buggy as where I grew up in Atlanta. Christine "Karen" wrote in message ... Well, you can tell winter is coming. "Stacey" wrote So far, I can still visit you, though!!!! Yup, come on over. We don't have big spiders in Finland, we have only two kinds of snake, of which only one is poisonous. No cockroaches, no other big bugs. Moths we do have. And the dragonflies can get pretty big. -- Marina |
