Default Mmmm, this is good!

Mom has some carpet runners to protect high traffic areas on her (what was
she thinking?!) white carpet in the house. Early this morning I heard this
odd sound... rrrripp rrripp rrripp. Turned on the light, Persia was ripping
up the carpet runner in front of the bathroom vanity with her teeth! (No,
she wasn't eating it.) I have no idea why she suddenly decided to start
ripping away at this thing. Personally I think it's ugly. Maybe she does,
too

Sam is really, really bad with pieces of paper or thin cardboard. He
doesn't eat them; he just slowly and reflectively tears them into tiny
pieces with his teeth.

Yes, Persia rips corners off of cardboard boxes from time to time. And last
week the newspaper was sitting on the floor and she decided it would be a
good idea to tear it up with her teeth. (Mom wasn't amused so I had to pick
it up off the floor.) She's never shown any interest in carpet before,
though.

Laku does something similar when he finds some thread, preferrably
attached somewhere, like a knotted rope toy he used to have where the
ends were all "dissolved" into thin thread/string. He looks like he's
flossing his teeth with it. Bites down and pulls up with the string
between his teeth, and repeat, and repeat...

She is channeling Miranda. It is Miranda that keeps wanting to
redecorate, isn't it?

Lindy does the same thing, although she sometimes acts as though she's on a
deadline.

Woodgie likes to pull the fringe on throw rugs off. Maybe that's what Persia
objects to?

Yes, Miranda used to decorate, but I haven't bought new rugs or moved
anything for a long time, and I guess she's OK with things as they are.
She put her seal of approval on the new swivel chair, and 'approves' it
several times a day. Apparently it feels like a scratching post. :/
