Mine pretty much only happens at night, where she will lie in wait just behind the entrance to another room while I walk down the hallway, us both knowing where the other is. I swear she just does it to scare the heck outta me because she's bored of staying home all day. I think she's only too happy to have you back and wants to play. The cats seem to playfully attack people only which they know. I love it when my cat does that! Carola
