Default Persia's Vet Appointment

When I called Persia's vet this morning they were completely booked
today. They called back and said they had a cancellation. So I'm
taking her in this afternoon.

She ate a little canned chicken (packed in water) this morning and drank
the juice. So she does have a little appetite.

I *hope* it's a bad tooth, even though anesthesia at her [presumed] age
could be dangerous. But something tells me it is her kidneys finally
shutting down.

Mega purrs are needed, my friends.

Oh Jill, mega purrs coming. I hope it's not what you fear. Kidney failure
is the pits. I had it with several very elderly dogs and also with KFC.
I kept them all alive for a couple of years when their appetite for normal
(or even renal food) was gone by feeding them whatever they fancied. Mainly
roast chicken.
Anyway, let's not panic yet. It might be something else.

If it's a tooth, there are special anaesthetics now available here that are
safe for even the most elderly pet. I'm sure your vet has them in the USA.
They do cost more, of course.

I'm hoping against hope that it's nothing much to worry about and am on
tenterhooks to know to stop me worrying about Persia too.
