Vid: Caliban on the dock

Caliban on the dock, trying to act as if he is not under constant attack
from house martins. I wish I'd had the camera the first time he went out
on the dock and the birds came. Caliban would put a paw up in the air,
as if he expected one of the birds to just fly into his open paw. :P

Too cute - he goes from giving it a bit of attention to acting like he is
totally oblivious to its presence (classic "I can't be bothered" cat
behavior 101).

LOL! Poor Cali! He tried just about every strategy (curiosity, defiance,
indifference, personal hygiene ) before giving up and coming back to
Mommy! But he did it *slowly*-- just so that bad bird wouldn't think he
chased him away.

Do they have a nest nearby or are they just nasty? I once had to defend
T.C. against some bluejays that lived in a tree next to her patio.

BTW: I played this with the sound up and Frank went nuts. He ran out the
bedroom door and then realized the sound was inside the bedroom not outside
the windows and looked back with a WTF look.

Yes, me too. He has this annoying habit of hanging over the edge with
his front paws dangling... I always watch him with my heart in my mouth.

They had a nest under the dock, on top of the pontoon.

Great video. I'm with Caliban. I ducked every time one of them dive bombed
the poor little guy. I forgot to ask, what was the story about him and the

Do you mean the pictures of him sitting in the boat? No story, he just
liked hanging around in the boat. Maybe he was practicing for look-out
duty on the Mouser.
