Frank and Nikki used to hate my table fan. They didn't like wind in
general - on the island they would stay inside as much as possible on a
windy day. They never could understand why Meowmie would want it to be
windy inside.

Last night, it was very hot, and I took out my fan and set it on my
bedside table because I like it to be cool in my bedroom at night. I
assumed I wouldn't have any feline company that night.

Sure enough, Miranda didn't come near the bed, but just as I was
drifting off, I felt a big weight landing on the bed. Caliban came
prancing up to the fan, very excited, checked it out, and then flopped
down between my face and the fan. Actually, in my face. Soon the fan was
blowing my nose full of Cali hair. Every now and then, Cal got up and
walked about a bit in the breeze, then flopped down again between me and
the fan. He obviously loved it.

I had been thinking that he didn't like the heat a lot, but this was
still a surprise. He didn't mind the inside wind at all.

Awwww, that's sweet.

My Merlyn girl is heat intolerant. She pants and is miserable when it's
hot. I took her to the vet, and he could find nothing wrong with her.
So I figured out we was heat intolerant. Which is what her behavior
told me. She *lives* in the "Cool Room" in the summer. And she will
get right in front of the A/C and sleep.

Right now, Katie, Arthur and Merlyn are all curled up on the bed.
Merlyn is right where the cool air comes out, her huge amount of fur
just blowing in the wind.

LOL It wouldn't surprise me if Miranda decided she liked it too.

Persia is quite used to the inside fans. I have a few box fans that I set
on the floor. She doesn't sit right in front of them but she doesn't mind
them, either. It's too darn hot here for me not to have fans running. I
have A/C but if I didn't keep it turned up high and not run fans the bill
would kill me! I tried sitting outside with Persia yesterday (it was a very
humid 94F degrees) and couldn't tolerate it... she was more than happy to
come inside and sit on the couch where the breeze of a fan was blowing!

Pearl doesn't like "inside wind" either, but Sugar doesn't mind at all
and she adores the sucky in side. I have one of those tall tubular
fans and that is really super well protected from "rubbing".

Marina!
you know why the header got my attention! =)
('fan' is a swear word in Swedish and caught my eye directly, even more fun
when it was Swedish speaking Marina posting ..)

I'm sure running the fan here too, some 30 C over the weekend, it wasn't
even too bad to swim and the water ususally takes some time to warm up, it
was at least some 20 C which is good for the water in Öresund.

good thing Thea & Bono already headed up north with my parents, they get to
start their summer holidays early, this way I can keep my windows wide open.
But it's still 27 C - much too warm for sleeping comfortably. I'm on the top
floor of the apartment building and the sun frying the roof all day heats
the place up

I thought that would get your attention. 'Fan' means the Devil, and
it's a fairly mild expletive, so it's not like I've cursed everyone into
kingdom come.

Mum's on the island. The water's 15 C there. She still takes her morning
dips.

Miranda didn't come to bed that night because she was with ME, Auntie
Marina.

We have central heat/air conditioning, so Captain and Stanley are used
to the "indoor wind" that emanates from the air vents that are at
floor level. Captain, in particular, likes to park his stripey self in
front of an air vent when it's winter and the heater is running. )

Yet another reason why if you want to find the most comfortable place
in the house, look for the cat. He or she will be napping there. ;o)

That's a lot warmer than the North Sea, it's about 8°C here at the moment.
I'm not going in just yet. ;-)
