period for final comments. Following this comment period, the Big-8
Management Board has decided by consensus to remove moderated group
rec.pets.cats.announce.

RATIONALE:

According to Google's archive the last regular post was approved on
2006-23-12. A probe message resulted in a bounce.

CHARTER OF REC.PETS.CATS.ANNOUNCE

This moderated group is meant for quick access to informational
postings covering all areas of cat ownership. Postings to this
group will include, but not be limited to:

o FAQ's about various breeds and their characteristics
o FAQ's regarding care and feeding of domestic cats
o Catnames List
o Announcements of shows, gatherings of interest and
upcoming events.

Appropriate FAQ's already cleared for news.answers will be found
here as will those that were regularly posted in rec.pets.cats.
Announcements of new email lists are appropriate and acceptable.
Postings will occur approximately every 4 weeks with the
"Intro-FAQ" containing pointers to the regular FAQ's appearing
weekly.

Moderation policies:

Reader-supplied FAQs and informational postings on any feline
related topic are welcomed and will be posted subject to
moderator approval. Submissions related to medical matters are
referred to veterinary professionals for confirmation of accuracy
before posting.

No discussions are allowed on this group.

Commercial advertising in general is prohibited.

Cross-posting is not allowed. "Followup-To:" will be set to
POSTER on all postings.

With the exception of PGP (and any other similar schemes) keys,
no binaries are allowed in this group. Binaries should be posted
in the appropriate binary group with a short message directing
the reader to the file location posted here.
